Cancer Peace Radio has teamed up with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society to bring our audience ‘special events' on a regular basis. The first event is a Professional Education program and our guest is Dr. John Godwin from the Providence Cancer Center in Portland, Oregon. Dr. Godwin spent more than 25 years in academic medicine before joining Providence and the Robert W. Franz Cancer Research Center. Dr. Godwin is a nationally known expert in leukemia, lymphoma and blood coagulation. He has conceived, designed and lead innovation clinical trials in leukemia and lymphoma for Southwest Oncology Group (SWOG). Dr. Godwin has served on various panels for the NIH-NCI and is currently a member of the NCI Leukemia Steering Committee. In addition to these accomplishments, Dr. Godwin has been recognized for patient care by Chicago's Top Doctors and received the 10 year Award for America's top doctors from Castle Connolly. He is board certified in hematology and internal medicine.
